Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go. 1 Kings 2:3
Sometimes, it’s very easy to forget that God isn’t only working in our lives. We’re not the only one’s He is blessing. He’s ever present in the lives of his people and those who desire to walk obediently in his Word. We were reminded of this today when we visited Pastor Kimm’s Care Home where he takes in orphans that are mentally, physically, and emotionally challenged. Pastor Kimm started this ministry of visiting different villages to seek out orphans to care for them. Of all the people in his care that we met, there was one young man in particular that stood out the most to us.
The young man was paralyzed from the waist down, and to get from place to place, he would either walk with his hands while on his ankles or using a wheelchair that allowed him more mobility. And yet this man, who is now a warden on Pastor Kimm’s campus grounds, is married and has two children, a little girl about two years old and a one week year old son. I don’t know what this man’s life was like before he came to this house; although, I do know that he has been blessed beyond measure by God. Pastor Kimm has a heart to love and serve those around him. He wanted to help those who would otherwise be ignored and so sacrificed much to create the home he had built, to give the care necessary for each orphan in his home. Pastor Kimm continues to see his ministry as a wonderful opportunity to love as many people he can with whatever resources he has available.
It is my hope and prayer that we do not forget the time we spent at this home and remember that the Lord is at work everywhere and he blesses those he calls his own.
