Happy weekend from Mori, India! Saturday was a slower paced day for the Simpson team, but still filled with many chances to love on the wonderful people of this area. We started the day off with devotions, then got to work giving one of Subbamma Christian Hospital’s operating theaters a deep cleaning. We were thankful for the chance to practically minister to the hospital by taking care of such an important part of patient care!
Later in the afternoon, both the Simpson and Azusa Pacific teams took a ride out to KIMS (Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences), the largest medical teaching hospital in the region, holding 800 beds. The school of nursing division of the institute hosted us to present their program for rural medicine. 50 nurses who hosted us were the same nurses who attended our seminars at Subbamma Christian Hospital. During our visit, we were privileged to listen to Dr. Darwin give a lecture on business innovation, followed by a presentation by Dr. Srintvasan Gandhi, the principle of the college, on a nurse’s role in rural health care. We were excited to spend more time with the KIMS students, and they were so excited to see us again! It has been so much fun to make friends from such a different culture than our own and learning what nursing education is like in India.
Tomorrow we are looking forward to a day of church, as well as a little rest and relaxation before we give a puberty health presentation to the Riverside School students on Monday. Please pray that the Lord would bless us as we share with them and that they would learn and grow from our presentation.
